The City of Tulsa Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women is excited to announce the call for nominations for the 2013 Pinnacle Awards honoring deserving women in the Tulsa community. The deadline for submissions is March 1, 2013 by 5:00 p.m.
March is recognized as National Women’s History Month. For more than 25 years the
Commission has honored Tulsa-area women who are role models in their professions, take risks on
behalf of others, perform voluntary community service, and demonstrate a commitment to women’s issues and concerns. The 2013 Pinnacle award recipients will be recognized at a reception in mid-March.
Those eligible are women in Tulsa who have made significant contributions in the categories education, health, corporate/business, arts/humanities, community service and rising star.
Nomination forms and guidelines, as well as a description of each category, are on the Commission’s webpage at www.cityoftulsa.org.
The Commission is accepting nominations from individuals, women’s organizations, schools and other groups. The nomination deadline is March 1, 2013 by 5:00 p.m.
The purpose of the Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women is to develop a public
consciousness of the talents of women, regardless of race, color or creed, as equal partners in the private, business and civic community; to encourage women to become actively involved in matters pertaining to the community; to work toward utilization of capable women in roles of leadership; and to serve as a source of information for women on legal and human rights, economic equality, health and discrimination.
